Electricity consumers face extra charge of 1.11 Rs per unit in October 2026 bills

Electricity consumers will pay an extra 1.11 Rs per unit in their October 2026 bills. Nepra approved a fuel cost adjustment amounting to 1.1086 Rs per kilowatt-hour.
This additional levy applies to customers served by ex-Wapda distribution companies and K-Electric across all categories, excluding lifeline consumers, electric vehicle charging stations, and prepaid electricity consumers who selected prepaid tariffs. The adjustment reflects the disparity between the actual fuel cost of 8.2084 Rs per unit and the reference fuel cost of 7.0998 Rs per unit.
Billing for this extra charge will appear in the October 2026 statements and will calculate usage recorded in August.
