In his letter, Faisal Mir informed the Deputy Commissioner that the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Punjab, Sajid Zafar, had formally notified him that permission for the event had been granted. He requested necessary directions from the administration so that preparations could commence immediately without delay.
Faisal Mir spoke informally to the media at Minar-e-Pakistan later on Thursday evening, expressing gratitude to Chief Minister Nawaz Sharif for granting permission and stating that his party workers had already arrived at the venue. He emphasized the importance of democratic traditions being promoted through such gatherings.
According to Faisal Mir, preparations are underway for a stage measuring 100 feet long and 24 feet wide where singers will perform patriotic songs. At precisely one minute past midnight on July 26th, a 24-foot-high cake will be cut to mark President Zardari’s birthday. The event is expected to begin at 8 PM on the same day with addresses by key party leaders including Bilawal Bhutto Zardari via video link.
Majeed Ghori, another PPP leader, spoke to the media about the preparations and commitment of the workers involved in the event. He stated that stage equipment had been brought to Minar-e-Pakistan and that despite any weather conditions, the party’s workers were determined to hold the gathering as planned.
