The federal government has launched a significant initiative aimed at enhancing artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure across public sector organizations. Under this three-year plan, the National Telecommunication Corporation (NTC) will collaborate with Data Vault Pakistan to deploy high-performance computing resources and advanced AI systems within secure, government-operated data centers.
According to Maj Gen (R) Ali Farhan, Managing Director of NTC, the project is designed to reduce reliance on public cloud infrastructure while providing government institutions with secure AI computing capabilities. He emphasized that locally hosted computing resources are critical for protecting Pakistan’s digital sovereignty and supporting future government AI applications.
The initiative involves the deployment of enterprise-grade NVIDIA licensed GPU hardware, including the H200, A100, and B200 series, at NTC’s secure data centers. These advanced systems will support artificial intelligence training and inference workloads and host several large language models, including Llama 3.1, GPT OSS 20B, Qwen3 32B, Kimi K2, as well as text-to-speech services.
Data Vault Pakistan will implement the project and provide operational support, enterprise AI infrastructure, and a 99.9 percent service availability commitment. The company stated that this initiative is intended to support the government’s efforts to expand AI adoption, strengthen national digital infrastructure, and improve the delivery of digital public services.
