Funeral prayers for Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Secretary General Ameerul Azeem were offered on Thursday at Mansoorah, attended by a large number of political and religious figures from across the country. The prayers were led by Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman, who served as the Chief of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan.

Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman paid glowing tribute to Ameerul Azeem’s lifelong services in the fields of religion, nation-building, and organizational work. He described him as a man of exemplary character, deeply compassionate, and devoted to the Jamaat-e-Islami workers, always caring for every member of the organization.

The funeral was attended by senior leaders from various political parties including Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal, former Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar, and former Foreign Minister Khurshid Kasuri. Representatives from different walks of life such as lawyers, journalists, teachers, traders, farmers, labourers, civil society members, and party workers also participated in the funeral.

Among those present were JI Vice Emirs Mian Muhammad Aslam, Dr Ataur Rehman, and Dr Osama Razi, along with JI Deputy Secretaries Nazir Janjua, Azhar Iqbal Hassan, and Waqas Jafri. Other prominent attendees included JI Central Punjab Emir Javed Kasuri, JI Sindh Emir Kashif Saeed Sheikh, and JI North Punjab Emir Dr Tariq Saleem.

Political leaders from various parties also attended the funeral, including PML-N leaders Hafiz Nauman and Mian Marghoob, Jamiat Ahl-e-Hadith chief Ibtisam Elahi Zaheer, former PPP leader Munir Ahmad Khan, and JI Azad Kashmir Secretary General Jahangir Khan.

The event was not limited to political figures; representatives from minority communities such as Punjab Minister for Minority Affairs Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora, Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee leaders Sardar Deepak Singh and Sandeep Singh, also attended. This broad representation underscores the significant role Ameerul Azeem played in the community.

Addressing the mourners, Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman highlighted Ameerul Azeem’s dedication to his duties despite battling cancer with remarkable courage. He emphasized that Ameerul Azeem fulfilled the responsibilities of Secretary General with complete dedication and discipline, setting an example for every party worker.
