The Sindh government has announced that all public and private educational institutions in the province will remain closed on August 4, observing Chehlum of Imam Hussain (R.A).

According to a notification issued by the School Education & Literacy Department, this decision was taken in pursuance of a resolution passed during a meeting of the Steering Committee held on February 12.

The order directs that all schools under the administrative control of the department shall observe the holiday, ensuring no classes are conducted on the specified day.

Notifications have been circulated to key stakeholders including the Principal Secretaries to the Governor and Chief Minister of Sindh, the Chief Secretary’s office, Directors of School Education, the Directorate General of Inspection & Registration of Private Institutions, and chairmen of Boards of Secondary and Intermediate Education across Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Mirpurkhas, and Shaheed Benazirabad.

The Director Press & Publication has been tasked with ensuring the notification is published in leading newspapers and through electronic media. Additionally, the Sindh Education Foundation and other departmental officials have been directed to circulate it among all educational institutions for compliance.
