CBS has secured a new five-year broadcast agreement with the American Theatre Wing and The Broadway League, ensuring the Tony Awards will remain on the network through 2032.

The deal marks the longest-running major awards show and network partnership, as the Grammys, Oscars, Golden Globes, and Emmys have all moved from their longtime homes following new deals in recent years. The Tony Awards have been broadcast on CBS since 1978.

Under the new agreement, the 80th annual Tony Awards will air live on CBS and the premium tier of Paramount+ on June 13, 2027, at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT. The ceremony will be broadcast from New York’s Radio City Music Hall.

CBS Entertainment president Amy Reisenbach said in a statement, “CBS has a celebrated history of supporting the creative arts on television and the Tony Awards are a cornerstone of that past, present and future.” She added that she and George Cheeks are "thrilled to extend the Network’s 48-year partnership with the American Theatre Wing and The Broadway League and showcase the extraordinary talent, unforgettable performances and incomparable energy of Broadway to viewers across the country for years to come.”

The Tony Awards are produced by Tony Awards Prods., a joint venture of the American Theatre Wing and The Broadway League. For the 2027 show, Raj Kapoor, Sarah Levine Hall, and Jack Sussman are set to produce. Kapoor and Levine Hall will serve as co-showrunners, while Patrick Menton and Rob Paine are co-executive producers. Menton will also serve as head of talent.

In a joint statement, Heather Hitchens, president and CEO of the American Theatre Wing, and Jason Laks, president of The Broadway League, said, “We are thrilled to extend our long-standing partnership with CBS. For the past 48 years, we have collaborated with CBS to bring the best of Broadway to theater fans all around the world and we look forward to marking the 80th anniversary of the Tony Awards with our best show yet.”
