Sony produced that version of “Resident Evil” for $75 million.

Other recent releases include “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” which earned $2.5 billion as the third-biggest movie ever.

In contrast, “The Social Reckoning” left theaters with a paltry $9 million in North America and $17 million globally against a $30 million budget.

Additionally, “Klara and Sun” barely cracked $1 million domestically against a $20 million budget.
