Actor Faran Tahir has returned to the Marvel Cinematic Universe after an 18-year absence to reprise his role as the villain Raza in the sixth episode of the Marvel Studios series VisionQuest.

Tahir previously portrayed Raza Hamidmi al-Wazar in the 2008 film Iron Man. In that production, Robert Downey Jr. played Tony Stark while Jeff Bridges portrayed Obadiah Stane. The character Raza was considered dead following a betrayal by Obadiah Stane.

The new series, created by Terry Matalas, follows the resurrected android Vision, played by Paul Bettany. Vision travels to Madripoor in the January 2025 episode to rescue Thomas Shepherd, who is also known as Tommy Maximoff. Tommy Maximoff is the reincarnated son from the series WandaVision.

A bounty hunter named Paladin has taken Tommy hostage to lure Vision into a trap. Raza arrives in Madripoor with a heavily armed group to capture Vision, but Paladin knocks him unconscious. The character was formerly associated with the Ten Rings organisation and operated in Afghanistan.

Raza now works as a bounty hunter in Madripoor for a mysterious client seeking Vision. In his new appearance, Raza wears a sharp suit and an earpiece designed to protect him against high-frequency attacks. VisionQuest explores artificial intelligence through the various personas embedded in the programming of Vision.
