Callum Scott Howells stars in The Night They Vanished, a thriller set and filmed in Wales. The series adapts the novel written by Vanessa Savage.
Gabrielle Creevy stars as Anna in the six-part mystery. Anna discovers her childhood home is listed on a true-crime website as the location of her family's future deaths.
Police confirm that Anna's family have vanished and that the website listing is a hoax. Howells plays Cai, who operates the website but denies posting the listing.
Regarding his character, Howells stated his role offers "exactly the kind of challenge I love". He added that Cai "could be the love of Anna's life, or the centre of a terrifying conspiracy."
Creevy described Anna as "a firecracker - sharp, loyal, and carrying more hurt than she lets on." The cast also includes Tamzin Outhwaite as Anna's stepmother and Steffan Rhodri as Anna's father.
Angharad Elen adapted the original novel alongside Hannah Daniel. Elen stated that she was "particularly proud to see the series set and filmed on my home turf."
The production involves CliffEdge Entertainment, which is part of BBC Studios, and Channel 4. Furthermore, the Welsh government provided backing for the series through Creative Wales.
The series is scheduled to air on Channel 4 later this year.
