The Hulunbuir E-commerce Industrial Park in China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region is investigating bilateral trade opportunities with Pakistan.
Wang Bin, a representative of the park, stated that the facility is seeking to import rice, sesame seeds, and pine nuts from Pakistan.
"We can explore importing Pakistani pine nuts, rice and sesame seeds to the Chinese market," Wang Bin said. Wang Bin also noted that the park intends to share technical knowledge with Pakistani firms, specifically regarding modern methods for preserving, processing, and slaughtering beef.
Pakistan already exports boiled beef to China, with Chinese customs data showing 2.38 million kilogrammes of the meat shipped under HS code 16025090. These specific exports were valued at $14.52 million according to Chinese customs data. Established in late 2023 with an investment of 47 million yuan, the park has already connected with 135 companies.
The facility brings together more than 1,200 product varieties and provides warehousing and fulfilment services for 49 businesses. Wang Bin noted that a single livestream for a corn producer from Molidawa Daur Autonomous Banner generated approximately 500,000 yuan in sales.
An airport-linked city cargo station has been set up by the park to support same-day or next-day delivery to 25 Chinese cities, according to Wang Bin.
"For Pakistan, cooperation could extend beyond agricultural trade to food processing, product distribution and online retail. For Chinese businesses, importing Pakistani specialities could diversify product offerings and create new commercial links between the two markets," Wang Bin said.
