Pakistani forces launched an immediate retaliatory strike against Afghan Taliban border posts, mortar positions, and defensive bunkers following an attack in Lower South Waziristan. Afghan security forces opened unprovoked fire on residential areas and Pakistan Army border posts in the Angoor Adda border area on 27 October.

One local person died in the incident, while a mortar strike on a house left five family members injured. The firing originated from posts inside Afghan territory and targeted Pakistani border posts using snipers, small arms, and heavy weapons.

Afghan Taliban fighters abandoned their positions and fled after the Pakistani response. Pakistani forces now maintain complete control over the border area.

Samar Bilour stated that Pakistan's sovereignty and territorial integrity are inviolable and the country will not tolerate any border violations. Bilour added that attacks on civilians in border regions endanger innocent lives and threaten regional peace, noting that any aggression against Pakistan would face an effective response.
