The Prime Minister’s Youth Program has launched a scheme to distribute 500,000 Chromebooks to students across Pakistan, aiming to enhance digital learning and technology access.
The initiative is part of the government’s broader Digital Pakistan vision, which seeks to integrate technology into various sectors, including education.
Eligibility for the scheme is determined by the student’s education board and academic performance. Top-performing Grade 9 (SSC-I) students from government and public schools in Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan are eligible.
Students from Islamabad Capital Territory, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan are also eligible, but this time including Grade 10 (SSC-II) students.
Private school students are not included in the current eligibility criteria.
The application process is entirely online and can be completed through the official Prime Minister’s Youth Chromebook Scheme portal at pmychromebooks.ibcc.edu.pk.
Students must first visit the official portal and select their education board. They then need to enter their identification details, including their CNIC or B-Form number, roll number, or registration number.
After providing their date of birth, students should click the ‘Find My Record’ button. The system will search the database using the details provided and compare them with the records submitted by the relevant education board.
The entire application process is designed to ensure the accuracy of the information and prevent unauthorized access.
