The Federal Constitutional Court of Pakistan directed Pakistan International Airlines to submit a response regarding medical facilities for its retired employees on 29 October. Justice Hassan Azhar Rizvi, who headed the two-member bench, stated that the national airline should value the services of former employees who served during its golden era.

The judge said, "The organization should not abandon its former employees but should consider their case on humanitarian grounds." Rizvi noted that the misuse of medical facilities caused losses to institutions and called for strict action against those involved in fraud.

The court heard allegations that even perfumes were purchased in the name of medical facilities in the past. Counsel for Pakistan International Airlines argued that the medical facilities system has been brought under regulation.

The airline's representative explained that medical coverage of up to Rs250,000 was previously available, but the annual limit has now been increased to Rs500,000.
