The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has announced a new procedure for students from Balochistan and erstwhile FATA seeking admission to MBBS/BDS programs for the 2026-27 academic session. Under the project "Provision of Higher Education Opportunities for the Students of Balochistan and Erstwhile FATA (Phase-III)," the HEC stated that admissions for the 2026-27 session and all subsequent sessions will be handled directly by the admitting universities.
The HEC clarified that these admissions must be conducted strictly in accordance with the applicable admission rules and the seat allocations approved by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC). While the HEC will continue to provide scholarship funding to candidates selected through its own merit-based scholarship process, the commission stated it will not be responsible for the admission, seat allocation, or placement of candidates in medical colleges and universities.
Prospective applicants are advised to apply directly through the admission portals of their chosen universities. The HEC noted that students must fulfill all eligibility criteria, admission requirements, and procedural formalities to secure a spot. Furthermore, applicants are responsible for completing the admission process with the respective university or college according to its specific rules and deadlines.
The HEC urged aspiring candidates from Balochistan and erstwhile FATA to remain vigilant and follow official university announcements. The commission warned students to avoid relying on unauthorized sources for information regarding admissions.
