The federal government has launched the Prime Minister’s IT Certification Reimbursement Program to provide financial support of up to Rs. 70,000 to eligible IT graduates and professionals. The initiative, managed by the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) under the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, is intended to enhance the technical skills of Pakistani professionals to help them compete in global job markets.
According to the PSEB, the program offers reimbursement for expenses related to approved international IT certifications from major global technology companies, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft, Google, Cisco, and Oracle. The source clarifies that the Rs. 70,000 is a reimbursement limit rather than a fixed cash payment for registration; applicants only receive funds for eligible expenses after passing their examinations and completing a verification process.
To be eligible, the PSEB states that applicants must be IT graduates or IT professionals. Candidates must select a certification from an approved international provider, pass the relevant examination, and provide valid proof of certification and fee payment along with personal, educational, and identification documents.
The application process is conducted through the official Tech Destination Skills portal. New users must create an account by providing their email, name, gender, date of birth, and password. Once registered, candidates are required to complete their profiles with accurate personal and professional information and create a resume through the portal.
Applicants must then upload supporting documents, such as their CNIC and academic transcripts. After the profile is complete, candidates must select a preferred certification from the approved list on the portal and submit their application before taking the exam.
Once a candidate successfully passes the examination and obtains an official certificate, they must log back into the portal to submit a reimbursement request. This request must include the official certificate and proof of the examination fee payment. The program team will then verify the authenticity of the documents and compliance with eligibility requirements before releasing the reimbursement, which will be based on the actual eligible expenses and program conditions.
