Around 80 federal officers from various ministries, divisions, and departments have been trained in public procurement rules and the use of EPADS 2.0. This training is part of an initiative launched by the Prime Minister on October 20.

The Auditor General of Pakistan (AGP) issued a press release stating that the second batch of a joint training program concluded on Thursday, November 5. The three-day session, which ran from November 3 to November 5, was organized by the AGP and the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA).

Participants received instruction on Public Procurement Rules, procurement planning, bidding and evaluation, and contract award and management. The training also included hands-on use of EPADS 2.0, which the press release describes as the government’s digital platform for end-to-end electronic procurement. This platform is intended to maintain a comprehensive digital record of procurement activities while facilitating the monitoring and auditing of public spending.

Additional Auditor General Murtaza Khan distributed certificates to the participants during a ceremony attended by senior officers of the DAGP and PPRA, resource persons, and participants. According to the press release, the Pakistan Audit & Accounts Academy (PAAA) hosted and organized the training, while PPRA resource persons provided technical sessions to offer officers both audit and regulatory perspectives.

The first batch of the training took place from October 20 to 22. The press release noted that the program is being conducted free of cost without placing any additional burden on the public exchequer. The DAGP and PPRA plan to extend the training to more officers in upcoming batches as part of a government drive to promote accountable, digital, and transparent public procurement.
