According to the Foreign Office (FO), the Indian vessel violated international law and the 1991 bilateral agreement on advance notice of military exercises, manoeuvres, and troop movements.

Pakistan described the incident as a violation of international law and the bilateral agreement, warning that such actions could increase regional tensions.

The FO urged India to adhere to international law and bilateral agreements, stating that such incidents could escalate tensions in the region.

In response, India’s Ministry of External Affairs summoned Pakistan’s envoy in New Delhi and issued a demarche over the incident.

Pakistan’s Charge d’Affaires in New Delhi will also lodge a demarche with India’s Ministry of External Affairs.

The incident highlights the ongoing tensions between the two countries and the importance of adhering to international maritime laws and agreements.
