The Meta Quest 3S, a battery-powered standalone virtual reality (VR) headset, is currently being offered at a rare discount during Amazon’s October Prime Day sale. The headset, which usually retails for $349.99, is now available for just $297.49 at Amazon, Walmart, and Best Buy.
For those interested in VR gaming and movies, this deal represents a significant upgrade over the Quest 2, as it includes the same powerful chipset as the more expensive Quest 3, while maintaining the display quality of the Quest 2.
In addition to the reduced price, buyers who purchase the Meta Quest 3S from Amazon will also receive the ‘Cardboard Monkenaut’ cosmetic set for Gorilla Tag VR, as well as 2,000 ‘Shiny Rocks’ to spend on other in-game items. Gorilla Tag VR is a popular multiplayer game that is free to play on Quest headsets, allowing users to engage in high-flying games of tag with friends or matchmade players.
The Meta Quest 3S is designed for both standalone use and PC connectivity. It can be used to play many games from the Meta Store and can also be connected to a gaming PC to experience titles like Half-Life Alyx.
One of the key features of the Meta Quest 3S is its inside-out tracking, which allows for standalone functionality almost anywhere. This makes it a versatile option for users who want to enjoy VR experiences without the need for external sensors or a dedicated space.
For casual VR users, the Meta Quest 3S offers a balanced mix of performance and affordability. The headset is equipped with the same underlying chipset as the Quest 3, ensuring a smooth and immersive experience, while the lenses and displays are similar to those of the Quest 2, providing a familiar level of visual clarity.
The deal also includes three months of Horizon Plus, which provides access to a huge library of games. This subscription service enhances the overall VR experience, offering a wide range of titles for users to explore.
If you are looking for a more affordable option that still delivers high-quality VR experiences, the Meta Quest 3S during the Prime Day sale is definitely worth considering. With its combination of performance, affordability, and additional perks, it is a compelling choice for both casual and occasional VR users.
