Syed Waseem Hussain, Member of the National Assembly and Member of the Standing Committee on Energy, has called for the establishment of new grid stations and additional power transformers to address forced loadshedding in Hyderabad, Pakistan.
In a meeting at the HESCO Conference Hall, Hussain emphasized the need for a dual-source 500 kV system and a 500 kV grid station in Nawabshah to ensure an uninterrupted electricity supply.
He also stressed the importance of a 630 kV AC/DC grid station at Matiari to further improve the electricity transmission system and provide a better and more stable supply to domestic, commercial, industrial, and agricultural consumers.
HESCO CEO Faizullah Dahri acknowledged the challenges and highlighted HESCO's efforts to improve electricity supply. He mentioned that 79 HESCO 11 kV general feeders have been transferred to zero-load-shedding status, allowing uninterrupted power to consumers in relevant areas.
Dahri stated that HESCO's primary objective is to ensure a better and more reliable electricity supply to consumers, resolve their problems, and further improve the organization's performance.
Hussain plans to discuss these matters with the responsible officials of the National Grid Company (NGC) and approach the Managing Director regarding the installation of additional power transformers at the 500 kV grid station in Jamshoro.
The measures proposed by Hussain and Dahri are aimed at eliminating forced loadshedding and providing a more stable electricity supply to the people of Hyderabad, Sanghar, and Mirpur Khas.
The HESCO management is committed to taking practical measures to provide better facilities to consumers and improve the overall electricity supply situation.
