Addressing the passing out parade at Pakistan Naval Academy PNS Rahbar in Karachi, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir said that he congratulated the successful cadets of friendly countries Turkey, Bahrain, Iraq, Palestine and Djibouti. He said you are going to be part of Pakistan Navy soon.
He particularly appreciated the outstanding performance of the award-winning cadets and said that the exemplary turnout of the cadets in the parade was a reflection of the high standards of the Pakistan Naval Academy. He instructed the youth to continue their professional abilities.
The field marshal emphasized that a strong relationship between the people and the military is crucial for progress. He said that the naval battlefield is changing rapidly and maritime security problems are increasing in the region, so it is now imperative for Pakistan to have a strong maritime force.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir further said that the war against terrorism will be brought to a logical end, the battle of rights will always be alive in the memory of India. He accused India of constantly being arrogant and aggressive, but Pakistan’s effective response had saved the entire region from a major conflict.
He said India wants to gain political advantages through its military might and false strategic plan. He alleged that India had launched unjustified attacks on Pakistan under the pretext of action against terrorism, but Pakistan had always shown patience and restraint. The Field Marshal said that today Pakistan is known as a “net regional stabilizer” in the region.
He also spoke on the issue of Kashmir and said that a solution to the conflict is necessary. The Kashmiri people are continuing their struggle against the illegal occupation of India. It is important for us to remember the Kashmiri people at this critical time. He said that Pakistan supports the legitimate struggle of Kashmiris for their right to self-determination.
During the ceremony, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir was saluted by the Pakistan Navy, who also inspected the parade. He also handed out awards to cadets who excelled in the 123rd Midshipman and 31st Short Service Commission Course.
The grand function was also attended by senior Pakistan Navy officers, families of the graduating cadets and foreign diplomats.
During the passing out parade the cadets were administered the oath of office. Chief Guest Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir presented the honorary sword to Cadet Abdul Rehman.
