One person dies of dengue in Charsadda
One person has been confirmed dead due to dengue in Charsadda, near Peshawar.
According to details, DHO Dr Waseullah said that a patient named Sajjad had dengue and died today. So far, 42 dengue cases have been reported in Charsadda.
Meanwhile, dengue is also resurfacing in Rawalpindi. According to the district health department, 52 dengue cases have been confirmed so far this year, out of which 8 patients have been admitted to hospital and 5 confirmed patients are still undergoing treatment.
Fortunately, no dengue deaths were reported in Rawalpindi this year.
According to the data, 28 dengue cases have been reported in Rawalpindi and 22 in Murree. More than 43 lakh households were checked during the campaign to prevent dengue from January 1, of which more than 11 lakh 39 thousand households were found to have larvae.
During this time, 56,781 sites were examined, larvae were found at 24 sites and 67,964 larvae were destroyed. According to the health department, strict action was taken against dengue SOPs violations, with 2,203 FIRs registered, 1,230 premises sealed, 3,520 challans issued and a fine of over Rs 41 lakh levied.
The new cases were reported in Phaghori, Potha Sharif and Ghahal areas of Murree, while cases of dengue patients were also reported in Eidgah, Satellite Town, Bani and Gang Mandi of Rawalpindi city, as well as in Kahuta, Gujjar Khan, Taxila and Kalar Syed.
The health department has appealed to citizens not to allow water to accumulate in and around their homes and to follow dengue prevention measures.
