Shah Mehmood Qureshi acquitted, Yasmeen Rashid and others acquitted in May 9 cases

Senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi has been acquitted of arson attack and burning police vehicles at Shadman police station.
The Anti-Terrorism Court on May 9 sentenced Dr. Yasmin Rashid, Mian Mahmood-ur-Rashid, Ejaz Chaudhry and Omar Sarfraz Cheema to 10 years each in prison.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) women leaders Alia Hamza and Sanam Javed have been sentenced to five years in prison and fined Rs 1 lakh each.
Shadman police station has been ordered to acquit 12 accused in the Stone trial. The acquitted persons include Salman Ahmed, Abdul Qadir, Faizan, Tayeb Sultan, Shahid Baig, Majid Ali, Bakht Rawan, Sohail Khan, Owais, Rafiuddin and Farid Khan.
Judge Manzar Ali Gul of ATC Lahore pronounced the verdict at Kot Lakhpat Jail. The trial of 19 accused in the Thana Shadman Nazar arson case has been completed.
The accused include Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Yasmeen Rashid, Omar Sarfraz Cheema, Ejaz Chaudhry, Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed, Sanam Javed and Alia Hamza.
A total of 41 accused have been named in the Shadman Nazar police station fire case, while 15 accused have been declared advertised.
