Pakistan's textile sector has seen a positive growth in exports during July-August 2026, with a 5.55% increase compared to the same period in 2025, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).

The total exports for the period were recorded at USD 3.379 billion, up from USD 3.202 billion in the corresponding months of the previous year.

Key commodities contributing to this growth included cotton yarn, which saw a significant 34.80% increase to USD 160.679 million from USD 119.195 million.

Knitwear exports also showed strong growth, increasing by 4.79% to USD 1.004 billion from USD 958.634 million.

Other sectors that experienced growth included towels, which rose by 6.74% to USD 191.135 million from USD 179.063 million, and ready-made garments, which increased by 13.59% to USD 827.001 million from USD 728.088 million.

However, some sectors faced declines, such as cotton cloth, which saw a 7.66% decrease to USD 276.255 million from USD 299.180 million, and yarn other than cotton yarn, which fell by 31.78% to USD 4.051 million from USD 5.938 million.

The export of bed wear also declined by 0.31% to USD 563.545 million from USD 565.322 million, while tents, canvas, and tarpaulin exports fell by 7.17% to USD 14.877 million from USD 16.026 million.

Art, silk, and synthetic textiles exports recorded a decline of 11.33% to USD 58.638 million from USD 66.131 million.

On a month-on-month basis, textile exports in August 2026 declined by 13.68% to USD 1.565 billion from USD 1.814 billion in July 2026.

The total exports for July-August 2026 reached USD 5.494 billion (provisional), up 7.73% from USD 5.1 billion in the same period of 2025.
