Punjab Minister for Sports Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar has unveiled the logo for the Pak-China Friendship Summer Games 2026, marking a significant milestone in the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the bilateral friendship.
The games, scheduled to take place from September 24 to 28, will be organized at multiple venues within the Nishtar Park Sports Complex in Lahore.
A total of 2,000 athletes from various divisions of Punjab will compete in 11 different sports, including table tennis, badminton, wushu, tai chi, gymnastics, athletics, basketball, football, tennis, volleyball, and weightlifting.
The event will also see the participation of Chinese athletes, further strengthening the bond between the two countries.
Speaking at a press briefing, Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar highlighted that around 70,000 athletes had appeared in the trials for the games, with the top performers set to be included in the Punjab Sports Endowment Fund.
The minister added that the prize money amounting to Rs5 million will be distributed among the top performing athletes, recognizing their outstanding performance.
The Youth Affairs and Sports Department of Punjab is celebrating Pak-China friendship through a series of activities, with the Pak-China Friendship Games being a significant part of these celebrations.
Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar emphasized that the games would not only showcase the sporting prowess of the athletes but also further strengthen the ties between Pakistan and China.
