The Textile & Leather Division of Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), in collaboration with the Pakistan Institute of Fashion & Design (PIFD) and the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI), successfully concluded a two-day capacity building training programme for women entrepreneurs, SMEs, startups, boutique owners, and emerging fashion professionals.
The initiative aimed to enhance the competitiveness and export readiness of participants by equipping them with valuable insights into international fashion trends, product development, and global market requirements. The programme was held at PIFD’s campus in Lahore.
Practical sessions were conducted by PIFD's distinguished faculty on topics such as Fashion Forecasting & Trend Analysis and Pattern Making Challenges: Understanding Garment Sizing & Fit. These sessions provided participants with essential skills to stay ahead in the fashion industry.
The programme concluded with an engaging panel discussion titled ‘Women in the Business of Fashion – Present Challenges & Future Opportunities.’ The panel featured key figures including Fouzia P. Chaudhry, Additional Secretary at TDAP; Prof. Hina Tayyaba Khalil, Vice Chancellor at PIFD; Aasia Ssaail, Founder/Director of LAMA; and Sahar Atif, Founder & Creative Director of Sahar Atif Studios.
Panelists highlighted opportunities in entrepreneurship, innovation, sustainability, branding, digital transformation, and export growth. They emphasized the importance of leveraging these areas to strengthen Pakistan’s fashion ecosystem.
