Lufthansa to Resume Flights to Riyadh and Amman from September

Lufthansa to Resume Flights to Riyadh and Amman from September

Key Takeaways

  • Lufthansa Group will resume flight operations to Riyadh starting September 10.
  • Flights to Amman will begin on September 15, operated by ITA Airways.
  • Austrian Airlines will offer flights to Amman beginning October 2.

Lufthansa Group has announced plans to gradually resume flight operations to Riyadh and Amman starting in September. The German airline stated that it continuously monitors the situation in the Middle East and maintains close contact with authorities.

The first resumption of services will be to the Saudi Arabian capital, Riyadh, with Lufthansa operating three flights per week from Frankfurt beginning on September 10. This move follows a period during which airlines suspended operations to parts of the region due to conflicts, including strikes by the U.S. and Israel against Iran at the end of February.

In addition to Lufthansa’s resumption in Riyadh, Italy’s ITA Airways, part of the Group, will restart flights from Rome to Riyadh five times a week starting September 15. This expansion aims to provide more connectivity between Europe and Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, Austrian Airlines will offer three flights per week from Vienna to Amman, Jordan’s capital, beginning October 2. The airline had previously suspended services to the city due to regional tensions.

Lufthansa Group emphasized that it is committed to maintaining a balanced approach in its operations, ensuring safety and compliance with local regulations while also responding to market demands for increased travel options.

The resumption of flights reflects a gradual improvement in regional stability and confidence among airlines. However, the airline continues to monitor the situation closely and will adjust schedules as necessary based on ongoing assessments.

Passengers are advised to check Lufthansa’s official website or contact customer service for the most up-to-date information regarding flight schedules and any potential changes.
