Saudi authorities reported that Yemen's Iran-backed Houthis carried out attacks on Abha and Riyadh’s King Khalid international airports, resulting in three fatalities and thirty-six injuries. The kingdom's civil aviation authority confirmed that Abha International Airport and King Khalid International Airport faced attacks on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The agency reported that the casualties included one Egyptian national, one Algerian national at Abha airport, and a Sudanese national at the Riyadh airport. The Saudi-led military coalition, which supports pro-government forces in Yemen, stated it destroyed the ballistic missile launch platform used in the Riyadh attack.

Furthermore, the coalition claimed it struck and destroyed eighty-two 'legitimate military targets,' including Houthi command-and-control centres, communication systems, and missile facilities based in the mountains. The Saudi-led coalition also stated that the missile launched against the airport was intercepted.

In separate developments, military sources from both camps confirmed new fighting in Yemen's west, which left at least sixty-two combatants dead, among them thirty-seven Houthis. Saba also conveyed that the Houthis fired a missile towards Taiz, a city controlled by government forces, causing injuries to five civilians.

The United Nations reported that the ongoing fighting has displaced over two hundred thousand people within Yemen.

Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree stated, "Our armed forces have just targeted King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh with a ballistic missile. The strike was accurate, by God's grace, and led to a disruption of air traffic."
