Hardline Iranian Members of Parliament filed a motion to impeach Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. Mohammad Rashidi confirmed that the motion was registered within the parliamentary system, though it has not yet been referred to the board or placed on the agenda.

During a recent parliamentary meeting, Araghchi participated in discussions that lasted four and a half hours. The foreign ministry formally identified Abbas Araghchi as a member of Iran's six-person decision-making team.

Araghchi previously held talks with US special envoy Steve Witkoff on 22 September. These discussions centred on establishing conditions necessary for reopening the Strait of Hormuz.

Mohsen Rezaei stated that Mr Araghchi would convey Iran's required conditions to the intermediaries during his trip to New York. Tehran's conditions, according to Araghchi, included ending the war, lifting the US naval blockade, and transferring frozen Iranian assets.

US President Donald Trump rejected the proposal put forward by the Iranian side. Hosseinali Hajideligani accused Araghchi of assisting in lowering oil prices for the United States.

Sabeti cited grounds for impeachment including mishandling the US file, 'crossing red lines', and 'serious miscalculations' in political analysis. Ruhollah Lak Aliabadi asserted that impeachment proceedings are not in the country's interest.

Mansour Haghighatpour remarked that one cannot change saddles in wartime. Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei did not attend the memorial service for Araghchi's sister.
