Huawei has updated the Taobao Instant Commerce agent within its Celia assistant to allow users to search for, select, and purchase products in every category using voice commands.
The agent previously only managed one-sentence orders for food delivery. The new functionality now covers a broader range of retail items, including skincare, flowers, fresh groceries, and consumer electronics. Huawei stated that the upgrade aims to address seasonal demand during the autumn and winter months, ranging from household items to outdoor gear and gifts.
This update also integrates Celia's companion AI directly into the shopping process. Users with Huawei wide-format foldable or bar-style phones can summon Celia while watching a video to request a purchase of the item shown on the screen without navigating away from the page. The feature is available to those running the latest versions of Celia and HarmonyOS.
A report states that Celia is now linked to more than 2,000 HarmonyOS agents and over 500 curated partner Skills. The assistant provides proactive suggestions across more than 100 different applications. Additionally, Celia features a connection with WeChat that enables the assistant to place phone calls and send voice messages.
