Netflix is currently streaming The One About Matthew Perry, a documentary focusing on the life of the late actor. Matthew Perry passed away in 2023 due to the acute effects of ketamine.
Five individuals were convicted for providing Perry with doses of ketamine that were cumulatively lethal. Producer Morgan Robertson contacted Perry's inner circle and publisher following the 2022 release of his memoir, Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing.
Robertson, who produced Framing Britney Spears for FX and Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV for Investigation Discovery, is also working on The Wolves of Real Estate: The Alexander Brothers for Peacock and The Real Wolf of Wall Street for Paramount+. Roger Castillo was the first to sign on to the documentary project.
The film features Warren Littlefield, who previously served as the entertainment president of NBC. While Robertson noted that co-stars from Friends chose not to participate, the documentary highlights Perry's role as Chandler Bing.
Perry was removed from rehabilitation to film the Monica and Chandler wedding during the seventh season of Friends. The Friends cast members arrived at Perry's funeral together while holding hands.
Matthew Perry and his half-sibling Bowick shared the same father, actor John Bennett Perry. Bowick stated, "This is it, he is not waking up."
Perry also appeared in Kevin Pollack’s Chat Show on YouTube in 2009.
