The Khyber Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shahid Ali confirmed that the return of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) from Tirah Valley will commence on 10 October. During a visit to Tirah Maidan, DC Ali participated in a grand jirga.

Discussions at the gathering centred on the IDP return, rehabilitation efforts, basic facilities, and the resettlement of Bagh Bazaar. DC Ali stated that the administration would address any problems arising as the return process starts on 10 October.

Furthermore, the DC noted that restoring basic needs and facilities remains a priority alongside the return. The jirga convened with a 24-member committee, local elders, and security forces in attendance.

Elders demanded the rehabilitation of roads, bridges, and essential services including health, education, water, electricity, and communication systems. Hamidullah Jan Afridi urged authorities to fulfil all promises and ensure peace, security, and reconstruction.

DC Ali assured that steps would be taken to restore public facilities and advance development within Tirah Maidan. Sohbat Khan Afridi asserted that a jirga lacking practical steps holds no meaning, demanding an official return schedule.

Izzatullah Hamkhayal urged the fulfilment of all promises and the clearing of outstanding dues before 10 October.
