The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) dismissed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's proposal for renewed talks. The PTI's long march reached the town of Kohat.
Sohail Afridi led a convoy departing from Kohat towards Islamabad. The convoy is anticipated to leave for Peshawar later today.
PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan stated that the government's dialogue proposal remains merely an offer, noting that no positive steps are being taken by the government for this purpose. Furthermore, Khan condemned the situation, stating, "This is inhumane treatment, and we have strongly condemned it".
The PTI also highlighted that its members, including MPAs, MNAs, and ministers, have been detained, and Khan demanded that "this practice of picking people and detaining them should now stop forever". Regarding political access, the PTI noted that Imran Khan has not received access for a meeting since almost a year.
The last meeting with Imran Khan occurred on 16 October 2025. PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja asserted that the government could contact Allama Raja Nasir Abbas and Mahmood Khan Achakzai for talks.
Akram Raja also declared that Imran Khan has given full authority to Allama Raja Nasir Abbas and Mahmood Khan Achakzai to negotiate on his behalf. The PTI Secretary General stated that the long march will continue until matters are adequately resolved.
Negotiations commenced on Friday, with a second round of talks taking place on Saturday. Initially, the talks reached an agreement on a five-point framework.
However, discussions subsequently stalled over issues concerning counter-terrorism operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and access to Imran Khan.
