Commissioner Shoukat Ali formed a divisional level Wheat Crop Management Committee for the Wheat Campaign 2026-27. The Commissioner will serve as the convener for this new committee.
Members appointed to the committee include Deputy Commissioners from Sargodha, Khushab, Mianwali, and Bhakkar. The committee's membership roster also incorporates the Director Agriculture Extension (Member/Secretary), Director Public Relations, Deputy Director Food, Chief Engineer Irrigation, and officers from the Crop Reporting Service.
Furthermore, Farhan Ghouri, Regional Manager of Fertilizer Company FFC, joins the committee. Syed Arshad Hussain Rizvi of Pesticide Company Agrarian Crop Sciences is also a member.
Khalid Mahmood from Seed Company Jalandhar Seed completes the list of initial members. Progressive farmers representing four districts form part of the committee's composition.
Monitoring the execution of the approved plan for the wheat campaign constitutes one of the committee's core duties. The committee must also conduct awareness drives to boost both the area and the overall production.
Ensuring the availability of seeds, fertilizers, herbicides, and canal water at fixed and standard rates is another key responsibility. Review meetings for the committee are scheduled to take place every fifteen days.
