The Capital Development Authority (CDA) cleared encroachments from 36.5 acres of land in Sector I-15. This clearance enables the planned development of approximately 500 plots.

Sector I-15 was originally launched in 2005. More than 300 houses, cattle sheds, and havelis were removed from Sheikhpur village during the operation in Sub-Sector I-15/1.

The cleared land represents about one-fourth of the entire sector, according to the CDA. Dr Anum Fatima, Deputy Director General (Enforcement), supervised the operation.

The enforcement action followed nearly two months of sustained efforts. CDA Chairman Sohail Ashraf was informed of the situation during an open forum.

The Enforcement Directorate received instructions to retrieve the land and take action against the encroachments. The CDA directed its Planning Wing to begin development work in the cleared area on an urgent basis.

Formal possession will be handed over once planning, development, and legal and administrative formalities are finished, the CDA said.
