The Pakistan Railways has taken a significant step towards enhancing long-distance travel across the nation by introducing an upgraded Awam Express service between major cities of Peshawar and Karachi.
Inaugurated with great fanfare at Peshawar Cantt Railway Station, this improved train journey promises to be a new experience for passengers. Notably attended were Syed Mazhar Ali Shah, Secretary and Chairman Railways alongside former cricket captain Afridi Shahid who once again represented Pakistan on the international stage.
This strategic development is not just about better transportation but also honoring rich cultural ties with neighboring India by facilitating visits to Kartarpur Sahib, a sacred site for Sikhs. The improved service opens doors for devotees to visit one of the most hallowed grounds in their faith.
