Alibaba released an over-the-air update for its Qwen AI Glasses on 1 November.

The software update introduces media translation and call translation capabilities to the wearable device. Users can now translate content from foreign films, online classes, and overseas podcasts. Translated text appears in synchronisation with the audio within the Qwen AI wearables app on a user's phone.

The company stated that the update improves speech recognition in noisy environments and enhances noise handling. The Qwen AI Glasses G1 first went on sale in March. Qwen also launched the N1 series, which consists of the N1 and N1 Pro models.

Both models in the N1 series feature a 50-megapixel sensor and support 4K video recording. The N1 model has a rated battery life of 9 hours, while the N1 Pro provides 8 hours of battery life. The N1 Pro includes eye tracking that functions in light ranging from 0 to 100,000 lux with a center accuracy within 1 degree.

Additional features on the N1 Pro include iris verification for payments developed with Qualcomm and Ant Group's GPASS, alongside monitoring for skin temperature, blood oxygen, and heart rate. Qwen also released a clip-on AI earphone priced at USD 500.
