The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board (KPITB) has launched a comprehensive two-year AI Innovation Hub project aimed at enhancing digital and artificial intelligence literacy among government school teachers and officers. This initiative is part of the province’s broader digital transformation strategy.

Under this program, 1,500 government school teachers will be trained in digital and AI skills, while an additional 1,000 government officers will receive training in AI leadership to support data-driven policymaking and improve decision-making across public sector departments. The project also includes the establishment of a School of AI, where over 2,000 students and public servants will gain practical experience in AI education.

The KPITB plans to develop an AI governance policy, ethical guidelines, and impact assessment frameworks to ensure responsible deployment of artificial intelligence across more than 50 government departments. These measures are designed to support the province’s National AI Policy and strengthen AI infrastructure while improving public services.

According to the project brief, the initiative will bring together various stakeholders including government institutions, universities, startups, and the private sector.
