Anthropic to reintroduce Fable 5 in Max and Team Premium plans

Anthropic to reintroduce Fable 5 in Max and Team Premium plans

Key Takeaways

  • Anthropic will include Fable 5 in all Max and Team Premium plans from July 20.
  • Pro and Team Standard users will continue to access Fable via usage credits.
  • Fable 5 is described as Anthropic's most powerful model for wider use.

Anthropic, the artificial intelligence company behind Claude, has announced plans to reintroduce its advanced AI model, Fable 5, in paid Max and Team Premium subscription plans from July 20. This move follows a staged rollout of the model over the past few weeks.

In an official post on Saturday, Anthropic stated that Fable 5 will now be included at 50 per cent of usage limits within these premium plans. However, Pro and Team Standard users will continue to access the AI tool through usage credits rather than weekly usage limits, with a one-time $100 credit provided.

The decision comes after Anthropic faced challenges in predicting demand for Fable 5, leading them to roll out access gradually over several weeks. The company acknowledged that this approach had been frustrating for users and aimed to provide more certainty about the plans' offerings.

Anthropic described Fable 5 as its most powerful model ever made for wider use, stating it is 'state-of-the-art on nearly all tested benchmarks of AI capability.' The model has shown exceptional performance in various fields such as software engineering, knowledge work, vision, and scientific research. Anthropic noted that the longer and more complex the task, the larger Fable 5's lead over other models.

The reintroduction of Fable 5 follows its initial deployment on July 1, within three weeks of being disabled for all users due to restrictions imposed by the United States government. These restrictions were based on national security concerns related to access by foreign nationals.

Anthropic offers a range of user plans including Free, Pro, Max 5x, Max 20x, Team Standard, Team Premium, Self-serve Enterprise, and Sales-assisted Enterprise. The company continues to invest in new capacity and will keep users updated on their progress.

Claude's statement concluded by thanking users for their patience over the past several weeks and emphasizing ongoing efforts to enhance access to Fable 5.

Beginning July 20, Claude Fable 5 will be included in all Max and Team Premium plans, at 50 per cent of limits.

Claude, Anthropic

We know this has been frustrating, and we want to give you more certainty about what your plan includes.
