Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed gratitude to overseas Pakistanis for sending a record $41.6 billion in remittances during the fiscal year 2025-26, according to official statements from the Associated Press of Pakistan. This amount represents an increase over the previous fiscal year and highlights the significant contribution of diaspora communities.

The government's focus on improving tax collection and transparency was further underscored by the participation of Finance Minister Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman in the annual PRA strategic conference under the leadership of Punjab’s highest-ranking official, Mirium Nawaz Sharif. The minister announced a zero-tolerance policy against tax evasion as part of comprehensive digital reforms.

During the fiscal year 2025-26, the Pakistan Revenue Authority (PRA) recorded an additional Rs97 billion in tax collections compared to the previous year, showcasing record-breaking efficiency.
