Pakistani Woman Admits to Prostitution During Umrah Visa Visit in Saudi Arabia

Key Takeaways

  • A Pakistani woman traveling on an Umrah visa was stopped by immigration officials after admitting to past prostitution.
  • The woman, identified as Anam, said she had engaged in the activity twice during previous visits to Saudi Arabia.
  • Initial investigations suggest the case may involve human trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation.

A Pakistani woman traveling on an Umrah visa was offloaded at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport after allegedly admitting to past prostitution, according to reports. The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) stated that during routine clearance checks, officials raised suspicion about the passenger's travel history and information.

The woman, named Anam, reportedly told immigration officials that a friend named Ilyas had arranged her current Umrah visa. She also admitted to having traveled to Saudi Arabia twice before, staying for approximately three months each time. During these visits, she claimed to have been involved in prostitution activities.

Anam further stated that her previous trips were organized by a man identified as Zeeshan, while another individual named Mani received her in Dammam and arranged accommodation. She disclosed earning around Rs. 150,000 per month from these activities, with visa and travel expenses deducted from her income.

According to the FIA, Anam said that all arrangements for her latest trip had been made by Ilyas and that she intended to work independently instead of through an agent. Officials recovered multiple voice messages and photographs from her mobile phone, which she admitted were linked to her previous activities and the purpose of her current visit.

The FIA stated that initial investigations suggest the case may involve human trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation. Following the inquiry, immigration authorities offloaded Anam and transferred her to the FIA Anti-Human Trafficking Circle in Karachi for further investigation and legal action.

The incident highlights ongoing concerns about the potential misuse of religious travel visas for illegal activities, particularly in Saudi Arabia.
