Oguzhan Hasipoglu, the Minister of Labour and Social Security of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), met with members of the Pakistani media in Islamabad during the 9th Ministerial Conference on the Role of Women in the Development of OIC Member States. The meeting was held on Sunday.

Hasipoglu emphasized the TRNC's desire for sovereign recognition and equal international status, stating that it is crucial for the region’s development and integration within the broader international community.

During his interaction with Pakistani journalists, Hasipoglu highlighted the economic and social progress made by the TRNC over recent years. He expressed hope that Pakistan would consider recognizing the TRNC as a sovereign entity, which could lead to enhanced cooperation in various fields including trade, education, and cultural exchanges.

The minister also discussed the importance of women's empowerment in the TRNC, aligning with the theme of the OIC conference.
