Pakistan has extended an invitation to Chinese investors for expanding their investments in the country’s ports, logistics, and maritime sectors. Speaking at the Regional Transit Trade Hub Initiative in Beijing, organised by Jiang Tonland International Holdings, Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry highlighted Pakistan's strategic position as a natural gateway for regional and international trade.

Chaudhry stated that the government is committed to transforming Pakistan into a regional transit trade, logistics, and industrial hub. He noted that this initiative aligns with Pakistan’s economic priorities and offers opportunities in port modernisation, multimodal transport corridors, logistics parks, industrial infrastructure, maritime services, digital trade facilitation, and value-added logistics.

The minister emphasised the importance of stronger regional partnerships and innovation, particularly in light of global trading system changes driven by digitalisation, smart logistics, resilient supply chains, green shipping, and multimodal transport. He highlighted that Pakistan’s strategic location makes it a natural gateway for trade, complementing its economic priorities.

Chaudhry specifically mentioned Gwadar Port as a flagship project of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), offering investment opportunities in port operations, logistics, warehousing, free zone development, and maritime industries. He invited Chinese enterprises to invest in these sectors, assuring them that Pakistan would continue to provide a transparent and investment-friendly environment.

The minister also called for closer cooperation between Pakistan and China to build a more connected, resilient, and prosperous future through enhanced trade and investment. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties with China and facilitating long-term partnerships beneficial to both countries.
