During the meeting, which focused on digital registration systems for private schools and measures to improve enrollment rates, Chief Minister Nawaz Sharif also sought proposals for registering tuition centers across Punjab. She directed officials to develop a mechanism for their digital mapping to ensure better oversight and management.
The minister was briefed on the school education sector and the Punjab School Reforms Programme (PSRP). The meeting reviewed possible new sources of revenue for the education sector, with particular emphasis on achieving the target of enrolling 4.3 million students in government schools within two years and four months. Officials reported that this target had been met ahead of schedule.
Punjab has recorded its highest level of genuine enrollment in public schools in recent years, according to officials. The chief minister was informed about these achievements and the progress made under various educational reforms. She also directed officials to make digital salary payments mandatory for teachers working under the Punjab Education Foundation (PEF).
