The Board of Directors of Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has officially confirmed Nadeem Khan as the company’s Chief Executive Officer. Khan, who previously served as Group Chief Financial Officer at both PTCL and Ufone, will lead the company in its ongoing transformation.

Khan's telecommunications career spans over two decades, with significant experience gained through his roles at PTCL and Ufone. He joined Ufone as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in 2003 and held this position for a decade before moving to PTCL in 2017 where he served as Group CFO.

During his tenure as Group CFO, Khan played a crucial role in overseeing the company's financial strategy during a period of major transformation. This included managing the Telenor Pakistan acquisition, which significantly impacted the company’s operations and strategic direction.

Khan will now focus on expanding and modernizing PTCL’s wire-line network, with a strong emphasis on fiberization and the rollout of next-generation digital services across the country. His appointment also aims to enhance PTCL's leadership in the B2B segment, positioning it as a key player in Pakistan’s digital economy.

As part of his new role, Khan will lead efforts to strengthen PTCL’s position through investments in broadband, fiber infrastructure, data centers, and submarine cables. These initiatives are critical for maintaining PTCL’s status as the backbone of Pakistan's digital economy.

Khan initially took charge of PTCL on July 2, 2026, as Chief Executive Officer for a period of 14 days before his confirmation today formalized this appointment. His extensive background and experience make him well-suited to navigate the challenges and opportunities facing PTCL in the coming years.

In addition to his professional roles, Khan is also a Chartered Accountant and a member of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England & Wales. He currently serves as a Member of the Accounting Standards Board of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan.
