Liverpool's perfect record in the current Champions League season ended on Wednesday following a 3-2 loss to Fenerbahce in Turkey. The English side arrived in Istanbul seeking to recover from a weekend Premier League defeat to Arsenal, following previous European wins against Villarreal, LASK, and Atletico Madrid.

Trey Nyoni, 19, opened the scoring for Liverpool with his first senior goal. However, Fenerbahce equalized via a deflected free-kick from Mason Greenwood. Fenerbahce, who currently sit sixth in the Turkish Super Lig and suffered a 6-0 loss to Aston Villa earlier this season, were led by interim manager and former Liverpool player Dirk Kuyt.

Alexander Isak put Liverpool back ahead with a header in the 69th minute, but Archie Brown quickly equalized for the hosts. Vedat Muriqi eventually secured the win for Fenerbahce. Isak stated, "I think we've put ourselves in good positions, so that today if we lose this game it's not a chaos situation. We just need to get back to winning ways and if we win the next game, we are back to a really good position."

In France, Cesc Fabregas's Como recorded a 9-1 victory over Lens at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis. This result made Como just the third team since 1992 to win by an eight-goal margin in the modern Champions League era. Greek striker Anastasios Douvikas scored a hat-trick, with Douvikas also netting the first two goals before Nico Paz made it 3-0 at half-time. Lucas Da Cunha and Marc-Oliver Kempf scored early in the second half, and Douvikas completed his hat-trick to make it 6-0. Mattia Liberali added the seventh, while Ruben Aguilar, Martin Baturina, and Matteo Papaccioli scored for Lens.

Real Madrid maintained their perfect league phase record with a late comeback win against AEK Athens in Greece. After falling 3-1 behind, Madrid fought back to win 4-3. Jude Bellingham scored a back-heel goal to cancel out an early opener by Aboubakary Koita, and Kylian Mbappe scored his 16th goal of the season to level the score after Stavros Pilios put AEK Athens ahead in the 75th minute. Federico Valverde scored the winner in stoppage time before Koita received a red card.

Arsenal secured a 2-1 away win against Slavia Prague with first-half goals from Noni Madueke and Viktor Gyokeres, while Wiktor Nowak scored a consolation goal for the hosts. Manager Mikel Arteta said, "We have to value the fact that it's very difficult to win away from home. We've done it against a really tough opponent, as we expected."

Manchester City reached nine points after Erling Haaland scored a late goal to secure a 3-2 win over RB Leipzig. City led twice through a Castello Lukeba own goal and an Enzo Fernandez finish, but Leipzig equalized twice via Ridle Baku and Antonio Nusa.

Other results included a 2-1 win for Borussia Dortmund over Real Betis with a goal from Konstantinos Karetsas, and a 2-1 victory for Club Brugge over PSV Eindhoven following a Carlos Forbs strike. Porto earned their first points of the competition with a 4-1 win over Napoli, and Viking Stavanger claimed their first win by overcoming Sabah of Azerbaijan 4-1.
