The basis of technology, she stated, is change. In her career, Suzanne Ciani was among the first women composers to work in major advertising, composing music for brands such as AT&T, General Electric, and Coca-Cola.

Her initial passion for electronic music involved using it as a performance instrument. She stated that she previously had no audience.

Managing loneliness led Suzanne Ciani to become a teacher. In 1992, Suzanne Ciani relocated from New York City and closed her large studio, moving instead to a cabin situated on the ocean.
