Wang Cong will contest the vacant flyweight world title against Natalia Silva at UFC 332 in Salt Lake City. The bout is set to take place at the Delta Centre.
Wang Cong, who is 34 years old, currently maintains a four-fight win streak. Conversely, Natalia Silva is 29 years old and boasts a fourteen-fight win streak.
Valentina Shevchenko was forced to vacate the flyweight title last month due to an injury. Cong stated that winning this fight would establish her as only the second Chinese UFC champion, following Zhang Weili.
Regarding the event's significance, the fight represents the first women's main event in the UFC since Mackenzie Dern beat Amanda Ribas in January 2025. Furthermore, the last time two women headlined a UFC flagship numbered event was in June 2023 when Amanda Nunes fought.
When asked about the fight, Cong stated, "It means the most powerful card, so I want to be the most powerful." She also remarked, "When I have paint on I feel crazy. It makes me perform better, it inspires me. There's not much different between paint and no paint, this is my true personality."
Finally, Cong asserted that she has nothing to say to her critics at this time.
