Sri Lanka reached their target at a rate of approximately 6 runs per over during a match in Lahore on 27 October. The bowling group conceded only one wide in 25 overs to maintain pressure on the opposition.
Ryan van Niekerk said the team felt a need to bounce back after the same bowling unit previously conceded 430 runs against England. Van Niekerk noted that the squad focused on a mentality of taking wickets through positive and aggressive bowling while improving the consistency of their execution.
The Lahore surface provided more tennis-ball bounce than the pitch used in Rawalpindi, according to Niekerk. Niekerk described Dilshan as a talented young bowler who possesses the skills to swing the ball and deliver a great bouncer.
The captain added that Dilshan's ability to bowl a well-timed bouncer makes his front-foot delivery more dangerous, noting the bowler remained accurate and only bowled one wide in 25 overs. Sri Lanka is scheduled to face England in their final league game on 29 October.
