CBS Sports parted ways with Tony Romo, following his previous tenure where the network had lured him to its NFL booth in 2017. The parent company formed from the merger of Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery operates under the name Skydance.

This merged entity is expected to carry substantial debt amounting to billions of dollars. Fox and Disney previously secured the services of Tom Brady, while Fox also attracted Troy Aikman, and Disney lured Joe Buck.

Contracts for Greg Olsen at Fox and Al Michaels at Amazon are anticipated to expire after the conclusion of this season. ESPN subsequently secured Joe Buck to a new agreement.

Amazon signed Kirk Herbstreit to provisional terms for broadcasting duties. The NFL itself struck an 11-year rights deal back in 2021.

In 2020, CBS Sports re-signed Tony Romo to a multi-season pact valued at approximately $17 million annually. ESPN signed Joe Buck and Troy Aikman in 2022 to cover “Monday Night Football”.

Amazon lured Al Michaels and Kirk Herbstreit to call “Thursday Night Football”. Ian Eagle, who calls secondary NFL games for CBS Sports, also covers NBA games for Amazon’s Prime Video.
