Donald Trump stated that he will cover the cost of taxpayer-funded, pro-Trump advertisements using money raised for MAGA, Inc.. These advertisements reportedly incurred expenses of at least $1.5 million from federal funds.
MAGA Inc reportedly accumulated over $400 million by the close of July. Two congressional Democrats requested that federal watchdogs investigate the use of public money for television advertisements.
Jamie Raskin, the top Democrat on the House judiciary committee, and California congressman George Whitesides described the commercials as “desperate pre-election propaganda”. The advertisements might contravene federal statutes governing congressionally appropriated funds designated for publicity or propaganda.
The first advertisement displayed footage of Trump discussing defeating communism alongside promoting tax reductions and manufacturing. A second spot featured scenic views of Mount Rushmore, incorporating quotes from Trump's Fourth of July weekend speech honouring the 250th anniversary.
Furthermore, a third advertisement showed Trump traversing a hallway while warning of a “final battle” against “globalists” and “warmongers”. AdImpact reported that the spots cost a minimum of $1.4 million by the end of September.
The White House confirmed that MAGA Inc would finance such advertisements in the future. Adam Schiff called for evidence confirming that the expenditure of taxpayer dollars for advertisements has ceased.
